Words but no pictures

Because on top of having loads of work to do, a mountain of washing that resembles the back room at Sue Ryder and a tax return that keeps leering at me, my camera has finally conked out. After 2 months of having to gently tease the lens out when I turn it on, it is now refusing to come out at all. Like a very stubborn snail (only without the slime and that whole, weird googly-eye thing going on). I've had to resort to taking pictures on my old film camera, which now seems faintly hilarious every time the kids run up to see the picture on the back, only for me to tell them "sorry guys, mummy has to take the camera to the chemist and then in about 4 days you'll be able to see the pictures" (hey, I'm a cheapskate, I'm not forking out for 24-hour!)

Instinctively, I want to put a picture up at this point in the post, but I'm not sure a scan of my Post Office receipts is really going to do it for you (although I know some of you are partial to a picture of a tax-return), so that's it for now.

  1. you know flora, that was just a really wasted opportunity , there are people hanging on the edge of their seats here hoping to catch a glimpse of that scan of your post office receipt, why are you teasing us like this....

PS you know mise has an official ,once off, never to be repeated photo of MY tax return preparation which SHE HAS NEVER SHOWN US hung up over the fireplace in the main wing of the right hand section of her home from home . She is the luckiest woman ALIVE.

  2. Oh I know...I just spent 20 minutes trying to find a link to her post about it but gave up. Why she hasn't got a label for "tax return pictures from my good friend Elaine" I'll never understand.

  3. Oops, I inadvertently deleted the "tax return pictures from my good friend Elaine" tag. Clumsy, untechnical me. But the famous tax return is right here. That's just a photo, mind you. The original tax return print itself is in my strongbox in my bank in Geneva.

I'm just creating the new "post office receipts from my good friend Flora" tab, though I miss the days when you were Flora May. I liked the May.

  4. Ah, there it is. And it is just as magnificent as I had remembered it. As soon as I get a minute, those Post Office receipts will be published in all their raggedy glory.

  7. Boo to your silly camera!

I had to take some film in to develop a month ago and I found it so difficult to hand over money. My brain is now trained to believe pictures are free.
