Website Update

Have spent the last few evenings tweaking my website to make it look a bit more, well, websitey.

I've been working on the adage that "...a website should be a handshake, not a punch in the face".  I can't remember who coined that phrase, but I like it.  So I've taken out some of the old projects that didn't make the cut, and put in a few recent ones.

Not sure how well it translates on mobile devices - so if you're looking at it on a tablet or phone, and it's a total mess, let me know!

And while I'm crowdsourcing, I'm not sure whether to stick with the "stainedglasswindow.info" domain, or move to something more me.  Like my name for example.  Any thoughts much appreciated.

  1. The simplicity is perfect. So many websites bombard with too much information on the home page, and I give up and go away. It's a lovely website.

And I vote for your name rather than stainedglasswindow.info, because when I see those generic domains I just assume it's info assembled by machines or offshore, ill-paid workers to display ads to people who reach there through google. So I never click. Whereas to me a name hints at artisan work, someone who is proud of their craft and wants their name to be associated with it.

  2. i would use your name, i just switched to my name and it feels good :-) even though it takes people 7 minutes to type it in. you could then have the stained glass bit in your description. or you could be florajamiesonstainedglass.com
