Butchers

I'm very lucky to live in a town that still has
three butchers, three grocers and three bakers.
There are almost certainly some candlestick makers somewhere here too.

Spaces

Nelly has a little desk in her bedroom now.
I love popping in and seeing what she's been up to.

We've finished redecorating our spare room.
It is now nicer than any other room in the house.
I succumbed to the Habitat Bloomsbury duvet as a treat.

Happy Sea

I'm working on some new stock for

It occurred to me that the semicircle shapes
on my Happy Valley design needn't be green.
They could be shades of aquamarine.
Hence Happy Sea.

This is a work in progress shot of the glass
cut and painted, ready to be leaded-up.

Swatch

My nose is to the grindstone, painting quarries.
I am enjoying the quiet contemplation that repetitive work affords.

I've coveted my friend Mary's Elanbach linen colour swatch chart
for a long time. I probably wasn't very subtle about it...
she gave me one for my (belated) birthday present.

It looks right at home in our living room.

Weekend

We celebrated the Royal Wedding in style, in the company of good friends,
outside my favourite shop in Bridport, Old Albion.

Sharon, who runs it (and organises the monthly Vintage Market)
had laid out trestle tables in the courtyard.
My friend Lisa brought her tea trolley and apron.
There was a lot of tea and scones and wine and beer.

*****

On Saturday we narrowly avoided golf-ball sized raindrops
and did our first campervan sleepover of the year.

Yes. There were toasted marshmallows.

How was your weekend?
